November 18 has no owner yet

On November 18, 1883, the railroads of United States and Canada adopted a standard time zone system, dividing the continent into four time zones. The chaos of local times — each city had its own — had made it impossible to coordinate train schedules. This system was the precursor to the world standard time adopted internationally in 1884.

On November 18, 1978, more than 900 members of the Peoples Temple cult died in Jonestown, Guyana, in the largest mass suicide in modern history, instigated by leader Jim Jones. The followers drank a punch mixed with cyanide. The episode gave rise to the English expression "drinking the Kool-Aid" to describe blind submission to an ideology.

On November 18, 1928, Steamboat Willie premiered — the first Mickey Mouse animated short with synchronised sound. Produced and directed by Walt Disney, the short inaugurated the sound era in animation and launched Mickey Mouse as the world's most famous cartoon character. Disney was 26 years old when he released it.
