September 19 has no owner yet

On September 19, 1985, an earthquake of magnitude 8.1 struck Mexico City, leaving between 10,000 and 40,000 dead and destroying thousands of buildings. The spontaneous response of citizens, who organised to rescue survivors without waiting for the government, was seen as a turning point in Mexican civil society and a precursor of later political mobilisations.

On September 19, 1356, the Black Prince Edward of Wales defeated the army of French King John II at the Battle of Poitiers, capturing the monarch himself. It was one of England's most decisive victories during the Hundred Years' War and led to the Treaty of Brétigny (1360), which ceded vast French territories to the English crown.

On September 19, 1983, Saint Kitts and Nevis became the smallest country in the Western Hemisphere to gain independence from the United Kingdom. With just 54,000 inhabitants and 261 square kilometres, the small Caribbean state was also the last British territory to gain independence in the American continent.
