June 7 has no owner yet

On June 7, 1954, mathematician and computer scientist Alan Turing — father of modern computing and artificial intelligence — died in Wilmslow, England. Turing had been convicted of "gross indecency" for his homosexuality and subjected to chemical castration. He died of cyanide poisoning, probably by suicide, though accident cannot be excluded. In 2013 he was posthumously pardoned by Queen Elizabeth II.

On June 7, 1494, Spain and Portugal signed the Treaty of Tordesillas, dividing the known non-Christian world between the two Iberian powers. An imaginary line 370 leagues west of the Cape Verde islands divided the world into two hemispheres: the eastern for Portugal, the western for Spain. The treaty was decisive in placing Brazil on the Portuguese side.

On June 7, 1099, the Crusaders of the First Crusade caught their first sight of Jerusalem after three years of marching and fighting from Europe. On July 15 they stormed the city, massacring much of its Muslim and Jewish population. The conquest of Jerusalem was the central objective of the crusade, called by Pope Urban II in 1095, and the beginning of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, which lasted until 1291.
